NO TREATS!!

So, Rachel and I have a new...shall we say....competition going. Since swimsuit season is right around the corner and neither of us feels quite swimsuit worthy, we decided to go NO TREATS! (echo, echo, echo!) Branden, who is a lover of all things salty and crunchy, might think, "hey, what's the big deal?" But, for Rachel (a self-proclaimed batter bowl licker) and myself (oh, just one more cookie can't hurt); this will prove to be one of life's great challenges. We started our journey last Tuesday and have both proven to be up to the task.
What constitutes a treat you ask? Well, obviously...cookies, cake, brownies, ice cream, candy, etc. Baking banana bread with chocolate chips is a treat, but not if you pick out the chocolate chips (Rachel's rule!) How are we getting through the day without even a piece of chocolate to the lips? Well, oranges and nuts are delicious! I have been amazed at how many times a day my brain says..."get a treat!" It has been a real eye-opener!
We are undecided about how to reward ourselves when all is done. Rachel says that she can go forever without a treat. And, my competitive side says...bring it on! So, what do all of you out there in blogger land think we should give to the "winner"?

Shall it be a reward to the winner? Or, a punishment to the first to fall? Let me know what you think. Who knows, we just may look like supermodels yet!

according to dr. b------, [my current psych. teacher] positive reinforcement is always more effective than punishment. but if you all want me to sucker punch you if i see you eating a treat, i could.

good luck! i should follow suit.

p.s. banana bread is soooo a treat.

okay. where do i begin?

self-proclaimed batter bowl licker!!!??!!! oh my! i hope we have a mental picture of me lapping up the bowl like an animal! awesome. (i like to nibble while i work in the kitchen.)

in retrospect, maybe banana bread is a treat (even without the choc. chips). amber, if you want to declare yourself the winner, i will accept that. however, in my defense, i couldn't in good concience feed my children something i hadn't tried before (new recipe and all...) - it could have been horrid. i TRIED a bit, i did NOT wolf down the entire loaf.

and i agree that something positive should be the end prize, rather than humiliation. we'll have to work on something great. i know, though, that for amber, just being the declared winner is enough. ;) may the strongest woman win!

an thus concludes my brief comments.

Hey sister, just picked up the Abs Diet book. It says one should eat 6 times a day to boost your metabolism with emphasis on breakfast being the most important. Smoothies packed with whey protien and natural peanut butter and berries are excellent meal replacements. I will be giving it a valiant effort so I can reclaim some washboard abs. So next time you see me you may not recognize me. Call me if you want any recipes or info. (you probably already know all this stuff, but thought you may be interested)

this brings back memories (the Wilkerson/Crist challenge of 2006). Does FF cool whip count as a treat?

The true test will be my bowls of table treats at Bunco next week. Those freakin' M&M's, you don't even realize you're eating them till they're gone!! Good Luck to both of you, I wouldn't last a day!
